An enlightening story captured from an internal network’s blog site:
A man is jogging along a deserted beach just before sunrise. Because of the tides, the beach this particular morning is covered with thousands and thousands of starfish. In the distance the man sees a small boy throwing something.
As he comes closer, he calls out, ‘What are you doing out so early?’
‘Trying to get these starfish back into the ocean,’ replies the small boy. ‘They will die if they are left out here once the sun gets up.’
‘What is the point?’ asks the man as he slowly jogs closer. ‘Look how many there are. You can never throw enough back in to make any difference.’
The small boy looks at the starfish in his hand and shrugs. ‘It makes a difference to this one.’ he says and then throws the starfish back into its home in the ocean.
Drowning Fish is back after recovering from a serious outage.
I purchased the Firefly DVD boxset a few months back and finally got around to watching it. This series was orignally aired in 2002 and was cancelled after 11 episodes. Who knows what the executives at FOX were thinking when they decided to cancel such an awesome series. I do not follow television series too much these days but have to admit that this series rocks(ed). The characters, the writing, and the stories are brilliant. I have grown to love the crew just as I have grown to love the original Star Trek crew. I will be catching Serenity in the theater tonight. If the sci-fi genre merely sparks your interest or have some time to kill, buy/rent the Firefly box set.
Things kids should have to do:
Their first car should always be a junky piece of shit that they have to pay for themselves.
Their clothes should not cost more than 25% more than the clothes I wear and if they do, they can pay for them.
They should work an embarrassing, service industry job for at least one year, preferably a place that makes them wear a smock and name tag.
Things kids should not be allowed to have/do/get away with:
Girls should not be allowed to get artificial nails; I’m talking 14.
They should be allowed a pager, but not a cell phone.
They should have a curfew until they’re a senior in high school of at the latest 11pm-midnight.
Webshots is a great site for photo hosting.
I am posting my Nikon D70S shots on Webshots.
Check out my latest galleries.
Just got back from Southern California. July 17, 2005 was Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary.
We were there to celebrate and partake in the festivities
(and July 18 was Lain’s Bday and we celebrated at Disneyland).
Celebs such as Art Linkletter, The Governator, and Eisner were there blowing sunshine
up Disney’s arse…
They passed out complimentary golden mouse ears with the anniversary date sewn on the back.
I managed to score around fifteen of those ears.
They are currently being sold on ebay for a nice price.
If you need a pair of July 17, 2005 Golden Mouse Ears,
check out my auctions in eBay in the very near future.
Today, or this weekend I should say rather has been pleasant.
I spent most of the day watching Elvis videos (sorry Frank)
Elvis is definitely the king.
His Aloha From Hawaii concert is very entertaining and stimulating.
He sang My Way and with passion and power. He also sang What Now My Love which Sinatra also sang.
I also watched a Michael Jackson video collection.
His video anthology shows you his physical transitions quite clearly.
He looked like a regular kid during his “Off the Wall” days. Fast forward several videos later, and he doesn’t even look like the MJ that appeared in the “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” video. He looks like a manequin-crazy nosed-female. Thriller still and will always rock. It is a thrilling video indeed and the kiddos love it. The kids love anything that offers a spooky theme.
