We all had a great time running the San Jose Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon yesterday. The morning started off on the chilly side. As soon as I started running, I immediately warmed up. Everyone did well and most importantly, we all had a great time! The event was quite extravagant for a half marathon (even more so than actual marathon events). There were thousands and thousands of people. The crowd support was amazing, the aid station support was amazing, and the finish line goodies were off the hook. We all scored multiple pairs of Spenco slippers (as a freebie for finishing the race). Did I mention that the finishers medal was freakin’ nice? All in all, it was an enjoyable event. What made it most enjoyable was the fact that we did it with friends.
Finish Times:
Felix: 2:09:42
David: 1:53:00
Jay: 1:31:53
Kelly: Her knee gave her serious problems and she had to stop at mile 11! I feel really bad for her. This is her first injury. It is usually me that gets tore up!
Props go out to Leticia, Molly, Jovino, Peter, and the handful of friends that we ran into during the event.
Great job everyone! We had some serious good times!
Concurrent with this event was the Phedippidations 2nd Annual World Wife Half Marathon (and Kick the Couch 5k). This particular event is brilliant and enables runners from all over the world to run together. Read more about it by going here. Don’t forget to register next year!
thanks for checking out my site and the rss! I’m a runner too (a newbee..but a runner none the less :p) working on my first 1/2 marathon and its very cool that you and your friends are so active! I’m definitely going to keep an eye on your site, its a good source for all the great races in the area. Hope your friend Kelly’s knee gets better soon.
